Before 1986 there was no scope for the tribal student to achieve higher education in the Mandvi taluka. The economic & social conditions of these people are very poor so the adults children cannot afford higher education elsewhere to Mandvi area. With the joint ventured & authorized members of jungle kamdar sahakari mandli, Sathvav & Budha started to use their buildings for college education at Dhobani depot Mandvi. They formed that trust by named of SARSWATI VAN VIDHYA MANDAL, MANDVI. Dated from 28-06-85. The college was established on date; 01/10/1986 with the objectives of providence of University education in a tribal students. But it gives the admission to other students also. The tribal sub-plan office Mandvi has allotted the land for the college building. The college started with 184 students & in 2008 there are 2000 student who are enrolled in this college. The college offers the post graduate course in the subject of Hindi. And also the under graduate courses through the two faculties. It offers faculties for social science. The college has managed the courses in Arts & Commerce College. From First year to Third year in Arts faculty & First to Third year in Commerce faculty. It manages the post Graduate Center M.A. in the subject of Hindi also. The college is also recognized as a center of BABA SAHEB AMBEDKAR OPEN UNIVERSITY, AHMEDABAD. For Various COMPUTER COURSES.
